This week we are talking about the Priesthood!!!

Take away: The sacraments of Holy Orders were instituted by Christ and these orders are gifted to men who serve the Church in a profound way.

Beginning on paragraph 1541 the Cat gives us a taste of the different prayers used during the ordinations of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons.

At each of these ordinations the language used during the sacrament reflects the history from which each ordained office fulfills it’s old testament counterpart. For Bishops the correlation goes back to the descendants of Abraham were chosen to minister to the lord in the sanctuary, for priests the correlation goes back to the sons of Aaron who shared in the spirit of moses, and for deacons the correlation is drawn to the sons of Levi.
