I hate mice, yarn and the devil (I want to punch them all).

Elevator Pitch/Takeaway:

The backbone of our Faith, The Trinity, three persons in one God. It’s a mystery so we can’t really know what that means, right? The Church sure isn’t going to give up that easy. Paragraphs 0221-0275 digs into the mystery and gives the skinny on the Trinity

Breaking it Down:

In the Old Testament we recognize God as Father. He’s the Father of the Israelites and the Father the Creator. In the New Testament we get a whole new understanding of God’s Fatherhood as well as the other two parts of the Trinity. While we can know a higher being exists through natural reason we can only know the truth of the Trinity through God’s revelation.

Hey meow, it’s time for new episode.

Paragraphs: 0056-0110

Elevator Pitch/Take away:
God has revealed Himself, not only so we can know that He exists, but so we can know Him intimately through His divine Son. He gave us the Sacred Scriptures, Sacred Tradition, and the Magesterium to effectively pass down this revelation.

Break’n it down:
In today’s podcast we dive into Chapter two: God Come to Meet Man. “By natural reason man can know God” (CCC 50) That’s quite the statement to start this chapter. We go through the revelation and covenants of the old testament, which all build up to Jesus. While, through the prophets, God gradually revealed Himself, and his likeness, God has said everything through His Son Jesus Christ. There will be no further public revelation.

Once we’ve talked a bit about what God has revealed, the Catechism speaks of how it was revealed. The Sacred deposit has been passed down orally, and in writing, through tradition, and through the scriptures. The Magesterium, which is the teaching office of the Church, is the servant of this Sacred deposit. The Magesterium through the Holy Spirit has been entrusted the duty to interpret the Word of God authentically. The Magesterium, Sacred Tradition, and Sacred Scriptures, are a three legged stool; one cannot stand without the other two.
